Reebok Trainers. In 1895, in Bolton, Lancashire, Joseph William Foster made himself a pair of spiked running shoes, as he could not find a pair he liked. He then started manufacturing for other athletes and formed the company J.W. Foster & Sons. The company grew and in 1958 became Reebok.

Reebok became a global brand in the 70's and 80's, the classic style popular for sport and as a fashion style. The aerobics craze of the 1980's was key to Reebok's growth and made them the number 1 sportswear company in the USA and the number 1 in the Women's fitness market. They still have an impressive range of Women's styles, which can be seen being worn by celebrities such as Mis-Teeq and Samantha Mumba.

Reebok have maintained their sporting heritage first started by J.W.Foster through sponsorships of top athletes and sports personalities such as Ryan Giggs, Venus Williams and Allen Iverson. Current UK football teams wearing Reebok include Liverpool, Manchester City and West Ham. In the US, Reebok are major sponsors of the NFL and NBA.

Reebok have also been keen to partner with top fashion and music celebrities. Menswear designer Paul Smith has collaborated with Reebok to brand a range of trainers with his famous autograph logo. US music stars such as Jay Z and 50 Cent have also created their own styles of Reebok footwear to go with their own brand clothing ranges.
